I am going to do new brake lines and would like to know how long of line I will need.. I am also planning on lifting it in the near future so a couple inches extra would be fine. Thanks
Is there some reason why you can't figure this out yourself? Especially seeing as how nobody else here has seen your truck and has any idea of what you're talking about?
Well its an 84 F150 4x4 stock suspension I can't figure it out right now because I'm not able to work on it until later and am unable to be by it right now. So I thought possibly off hand someone can possibly give me an idea so I can order the parts to the store. I'm sorry that it inconvenienced you to try to help me.
It doesn't inconvenience me at all, but I'm saving you the inconvenience of returning and then purchasing other parts because you ordered the wrong things.
There are just too many different possible configurations of these things, there is no way somebody who hasn't seen it can tell you what you need.

Welcome to FTE.
You're not in that big of a hurry.
Get off your lazy bum and go measure it the next time your screwing with it.
Well I was looking for a picture of my truck all over my phone today and wasn't able to find one Ill get pictures up as soon as I can but I'm not huge into pictures but as I said stock 4x4 ttb suspension just need an idea and maybe if you know do they have braided line I hate rubber anything.
They do make braided line(which are rubber inside), if you are lifting it you need to have them made to length. I've used Crown Performance in the past. As have a few friends, can custom make just about anything. Good peoples. Give them a shout, very knowledgeable.
Think about it. The length of the truck + Width + height. Thats a good estimate. If i had to wager a guess id say around 25 feet of hard line. But i feel that may be short.
I must say thats not a very nice first impression. As stated no one knew if you had a plain ol style side or a crew cab dually long bed. Alot of guys here dont cotton too well to a post thats so vague. But i guarantee you wont find a nicer more knowledgeable group anywhere. Just remember to always include your trucks info and if its having a problem, under what conditions the problem occurs. But always be civil to the know everythings. Because without them some of us would know nothing.
ok, now explain to us how you plan on doing this project, do you plan on using predone sections of line or do you plan on buying a coil of line and putting the double flairs into it yourself. if you don't have a flaring tool you will need to buy the premade sections. most racks they come in lengths of roughly 8,12,20,30,40,51,60,72. you will be using 3/16 line. you did not mention if you are doing just the hard lines or also the hoses. if you are doing hoses and you plan on lifting it i would get the hoses for your lift. understand the hard lines don't change when you lift with suspension only the hoses, if you do a body lift you may need to lengthen the lines leaving the master cylinder. let us know how you plan on doing this project and we can be of some help. i just redid all the rear lines and the hose to my 84 so this is kinda fresh on my mind plus i work at a parts store and end up being given every customer who comes in looking for lines. in short... HELP US HELP YOU.
Well I thought I had one of those neat signature things on the bottom that stated what I had because I filled those blanks in about 100 times so I figured it would just have my pickups info below my posts. But I'm wanting just that rubber hose that comes from the caliper to the steel line and was hoping to get braided line to do this.
My truck is an 84 F150 4x4 Explorer Edition. It has the 300 (4.9L) motor and 4 speed (Granny) transmission. It has an 8.8 rear end and a TTB (Twin Traction Beam) Front end. It is a standard cab with an 8 Foot bed. It has no lift to it yet but I have leveling pucks that I am putting in tonight. This is why I asked while I was down there I was wanting to redo the brakes since I'll have everything off already. Sorry I don't mean to sound lazy but I work right after school on a farm and after getting done there its dark before I get home and would rather have parts ordered so on the weekend I can do all that needs to be done and have all my parts since where I come from a parts run isn't very conducive.
And also this weekend I will splurge a couple of bucks to wash my truck so I can posts pics that is if here in Nebraska we don't get hit by another 10 inches of snow, No use in washing a truck when the second you pull out of the car wash you get it caked in crap.
For lines from the frame clip to the calipers/drums just measure that old line. Then add 1.25x the lift. If your going up 4" add roughly 5-5.5" to your stock length. Its probably better if you do that yourself so you know 100% its right for your truck. It would suck to get new lines in and be 1" too short or be too long and the tire grab it and rip it off.
