Where is the code stamped on the injector? I need to replace mine badly, and I'm planning to get the rebuilds from R&D but need to know my codes first for the core. Mine are stock judging by the paint, the engine is an 88. That might be a new contest, who has the most miles on their injectors, these are over 200k.
They sell delphi BB codes which supersede the older codes. I would almost bet the new stanadynes they advertise are out of stock. I have not been able to source any except old stock.
And bb delphis are subject to their sketchy product runs. The warehouse I buy from runs out and backorder time is usually 2 to 4 months.
Well, according to the site, the rebuilds are matched pretty decent, and typefour's post echos what I have heard about off the shelf stuff. Boost is in the future of this engine, it's going to take a lot of custom stuff and maybe even restarting the build from a different angle to fit the engine better, but it'll happen. I'd like to get the 90cc pump too, it's a good deal vs an off the shelf reman.
If I was hung up on new stuff, I wouldn't have this engine in this truck. I'd rather have a quality balanced set than "new" just because it's new. Granted, just about anything would be better than the ones in there now, but still........
The 2200s listed would be fine, I'm not going nuts building this and I'm most concerned with them being pretty well matched.
thats why I match the new sets before they go out the door, too many manufacturing variables. Plus it makes for a VERY smooth engine all other things being equal.
