I have some info on ford reman injectors.
For some years now I have been buying what I call "orphan" injectors that have come up on ebay.
Dates of reman are from 97 to 2000.
The earlier ones with the rubber band around them were the best of the bunch.
All have been ford reman and various codes. As it turns out whoever is doing these things for them has no clue or care what the pattern is or the tips they use after cleaning.
I have one d code that pops at 2800 psi. and it is a straight stream.
Most of the others have no pattern whatsoever. And I even re cleaned them as even fuzz debris will mess with the pattern.
So after much testing and cussing I would have to recommend against ford remans.
Also I have 2 stanadyne G codes that have the same part number tip in them as the new D codes so even they just stuff and ship. LOL
I'm glad you started this thread. The injector information for these IDI's is pretty scant. And some personal experience and testimonials could help make a reliable assessment of rebuilt injectors.
I got mine from diesel site, stage 2 180cc single shots, after having my PCM reprogrammed so she idles nice. I am very happy with the end result. they were for my 99 7.3.
I'm very curious as to just what the codes stamped on these injectors mean. My injectors are stamped 'D'. Who knows what the originals were stamped with? The PO replaced them at some point. Can you mix and match injectors with different codes? (No, I would never replace just one injector anyways. Just asking)
How is an owner supposed to know which injectors are best for his IDI? Can I actually shop for code 'D' injectors, or code 'F'? Or do you get what you get?
also the Stanadyne conventional injector service manual is pretty thorough
Yup, New nozzles can be sourced from china. But its tricky finding a reputable dealer. Last I checked StarDiesel offered em, but they were out of stock.
I think the part number I searched was from a delphi nozzle (new chinesium) and I'm pretty sure Justin sources his nozzles from china.

Oh, tell me it ain't true! When I mentioned I bought some with bad patterns, an "expert" here said patterns don't matter since IDI's have prechambers. Yeah, right.
