EGR Cooler Replace / BulletProof Install

So, I think I need to replace my EGR Cooler, based on getting coolant-smelling smoke in the morning. I want to do the BPD, but just got a quote from a local shop (who is a distributor of theirs) and they say $4k to install and provide parts.

Is there anyone who has done this who would help me out doing it, so I can save about $2k and actually afford it?

Check up in the 6.0l forum. I think there are a few guys there who are from NorCal that dont come down here frequently.

Is your diesel a 6.0? There's more you should do in there while apart. Upgraded dummy Plugs and stand pipes, STC fitting. Definitely head over to the 6.0 forum for advise. There are some pretty fart smellers over there that know this complicated mess under the hood.

Whelp, after overreacting, I took it to a good shop right by my office, and they found that the smoke and coolant smell were coming from incomplete combustion due to failing fuel pressure regulator and from my degas bottle being cracked.

Sorry for being annoying.
