battery light comes on at idle

battery light comes on at idle

My battery light comes on when im at an idle. I got new batterys and it still comes on at an idle but goes away when I touch the throttle. Time for a new alternator?

I would definitely have the alternator tested.

I have two new batteries a new reman alt and replaced the positive cable and mine still comes on. There are some threads about the connections at the alternator which is where I am checking next. I have checked those connections before and they have been tight but I guess I have to go more in depth.

Check your battery terminals as well. Loose or really crudded up battery connections can cause this.

Check the big wire on the alt. The connector is know to split in half.

Yes check the wire on top of the Alternator.

Its usually the alternator, same thing happened to me three times and it was always the alternator.

Ya the big wire did split in half and I put a new end on it, but the light still comes on. I'm pretty sure the alt is still good cu the battery's haven't died yet.
