I want to build a flatbed for my highboy but my skyjacker leaves don't carry nearly as much as my old 9 pack leaves did. I was told a 20ft stick of 2x4 .120 wall weighs 98 pounds, figure I'd use about 50 ft plus wood, mounts, and headache rack. I'd say about 450-500lbs for a flatbed.
My 7.5' x 9.5 flat deck can't be more than 300 lbs. I can pick up either end and move it myself and whether I like it or not I'm gimped. Unless it's Douglas fir, wood is pretty light.
