6.0 Dieing Problems
I have a 2004 Ford F-250 6.0 diesel which runs great and I do my own
maintenance on but has a small problem. Some back round on the truck is I bought it second hand it has a AFE intake and 4" turbo back Silverline exhaust system along with the bully dog triple dog tuner and bully dog out look. I will be drive at any speed and the truck will have no throttle response , but the engine will go to idle and sometimes it is for a few seconds and I can let my foot of the throttle press on it and it is good to go. It will happen on cruise control as well where it will just cut out go to idle for a split second and with out turning off the cruise control it will just kick back on. Along with that it has cut out and gone to idle and I have had to pull over and then it is good to go by time I have gotten fully pulled over. This is a sporadic problem as well where it may happen twice in 10 miles and then never happen for months or weeks. Or it will also happen multiple times in a week. I took it to a local ford dealership and had them run a diagnostics test on the motor and they said that there was no abnormal codes. It doesn't through a indicator light on the dash either. I have totally un install the tuner and returned it to stock and it still has this problem. The dealership suggested a throttle position sensor so I replaced that as well. Still have the problem. I have checked volts to the FICM and they are all around the 48 volts and connections are solid. I know that the 04 have the O-ring style STC valve but everything I have heard with that is the truck will just die and not start again and the ford dealer ran it and looked at the pressures and it did not fluctuate in pressure much on the high pressure oil pump.
So that is what I have and am looking for anything ya'll may know of have experience with. It is all much appreciated thanks.
