No start after mods help!

2003 excursion 7.3.. So I did a bunch if mods and now I'm trying to start... Lots of long cranking and had it start and rev then stall... Upgraded to t500 hpop with new lines... Rebuilt fuel bowl... Hpx and frx from riff Raff afe blade riff Raff boots wicked wheel 2 banks power elbow and turbo back exhaust... Ebpv delete... My question is how much cranking does it take to reprime the system and get it to start... I cranked for roughly 5 min had two start revs and stalls after cranking for 2 or 3 minutes... Once the batteries got weak and starter hot no mor luck... Any ideas?

Pull the fuel filter dump some fuel in it put it back on. Your having fuel and oil issues right now because all the air in both lines. The oil lines by themselves are a pita

When I changed my HPO lines it took 3-4 15second cranks to get enough oil to the injectors for fire up... Thought I'd add that

Did you refill the HPOP reservoir? Keep checking and refilling after each cranking session. I also refilled my oil rails with a funnel before putting everything back together. You need to let the fuel pump do it's thing several times before actually trying to start. Turn the key till the pump starts running, wait till it stops, turn off key and repeat 3 more times. Unless you goofed on something, it will start and run pretty soon.

I have heard of a couple of folks who have switched the EBPV and IPR connectors by accident. Not sure if the engine would even start but if it did it would imediately die. Might be worth checking...

Since you installed a FRX, can't you crack a fitting loose and bleed the air at the fitting now? I would try it.

When I said "if you screwed anything up", I didn't mean to suggest you might be incompetent. Sorry if it came off that way. I was talking about leaving something loose, unplugged or swapping plugs like was just suggested. You will get it figured out. Check your sensor connection on the IPR. Make sure it is in the socket and seated. Also check the tin nut on the back.

And if you don't get it figured out by the weekend hollar at me. I am just down the road...Do you have a way to see live data? AE?

Yes I have an AE.. I'm new with it though... Been following tugly's thread and learning a lot... I've been pushing gas pedal when trying to start... Could I be flooding it out? I'd love some help! I'm getting really good oil psi during startup... Also inj pulse width is between 4-6... I'm wondering if my weak battery combined with flooding (if these things flood).. If you have patameters with ranges I can sure monitor them during startup and report back... Btw how far away are you? Location?

They don't flood, pushing the pedal during startup does nothing, only after it fires, does the PCM look for first the IVS(Idle Validation Switch) to be made and then compute the signal from the TPS(Throttle Position Sensor).

You can have it floored, and if it starts it will do nothing more than idle until the IVS is switched again.

You said good oil psi, like how much? Also what is the duty cycle? Have you tried to start it with the ICP sensor unplugged, I have found that in some cases, you can command the injectors to fire in the event or air in the lines or such by commanding the default value with it unplugged.

I'm with most everyone else, oil issue.

I'm in Bastrop, Richard. Would be happy to come over there and throw some wrenches around if needed.

Here's a copy and paste:

7.3L Powerstroke Starting Req.:
Vehicle Power: 10.5v
RPM Signal : 100rpm
Inj. Cntrl Press. (ICP): 0.85v (about 500psi)
Fuel Pulse Width: 1 to 6 milliseconds

I'd suggest you get all the parameters above on your AE screen when you try to start... and set it to record. You can always view the data later at your own pace and catch stuff you wouldn't see while so much is happening at once.
