I flushed my Fold Gold crap out today. Along the way I learned some things:
1) Coolant is HOT
2) Radiator drain petcock is weak
3) Being wet when it is 27 deg. outside is not fun
4) If you have to drive in the snow, when you get under the truck things drip on you
5) I need to go into the business of distilling water
But i'm done. Except for refill with ELC. I did this in prep for some other work I have planned this week. EGR delete, Oil cooler, Coolant filter. Plus new stereo and backup cam.
I had the turbo out last year when I upgraded to the powermax. I would love to wait until it gets warm but me and the wife had out second baby boy last Saturday and im off work. So it works out well. except for the 27 deg high we are going to have tomorrow. Looks like it will be a fun teardown
This is true. I tend to swear more with the truck....sometimes. We have a 5 1/2 year old too and its nice having him around. He likes helping us and getting things for his little bro.
congrats on the new youngin, teach em well tho the wreanches we all know today will change to something else. like hovering wrench or selve adjust or I Phone connect /with remote, ( Lord) only wish the mower had all that lol.
At least your kids wont leave you stranded on the side of the road.
Toothpick- I like the powermax. I would say I noticed a power gain. Faster spool up time.It was a complete bolt in. Its a heck of a lot louder too. Plus it was cheaper than a ford rebuilt. The dealer told me my stocker was junk so I swapped it out the the powermax. Turns out the stock one was fine but im all about upgrades....does anyone need a ford rebuilt stock turbo?
Congrats on the new arrival, I have a five year old who loves to help, and my daughter knows what all the tools are so she gets them and hands them off and Matthew brings them to me and everyone is happy.
My 5 year old takes my ratchets and just bangs them on his bicycle and says he's working on it. Then I can't find my ratchet. Or he takes my big sockets out of my tool chest and rolls them down the driveway. At least he brings those back.
I was building a Theater in a House I had the Kids there I thought OK I going to snap the lines and they would get a Kick out of shooting the Nail Gun to nail the plywood off
Well that kid grabed the Gun one of those top of the line Hitachi Nail guns I had it set to Auto Fire multiple shots and man the thing bounce off the first shot and just kept going took him for a Ride
I thought Im going to end up with a Kid nailed to the floor and in the emergency room
