Lately I have noticed a change in my glowplug system. Used to, when you turn the key on, the plugs would stay on for 10-12 seconds. They would do this as many times as you cycled the key until the battery was dead. Now they only go full cycle one time. When you turn the key off back on they only click. The truck really needs to be heated 3 times to start easily so this makes it really hard to start. I have done some research on this issue but haven't found another like it. I think that some of the plugs are bad but don't know how to check them. Previous owner changed all of them and the relay about a month ago-right before I got the truck.
Also, I believe that the thermostat is not installed or stuck open because the truck never shows engine heat and heater blows cold even with radiator blocked. Didn't know if this would help or not.
Quick way to ck glow plugs . Disconnect them ,clip a test lamp to pos + battery lead . Touch the tip pf the plug ( where it plugs in ) Test lamp should light . If bad it will not . Better to ohm them all out , but test lamp will show dead ones .
