Tailgate harness/switch

Looking for the part # for the tailgate harness/switch for my 96

Which switch in the tailgate? There are two. The "UP" switch and the "DOWN" switch for the glass. The key just swings a paddle on the end of the tumbler assembly that depresses one switch at a time depending upon the direction the key is turned.

Looking for up/down switch. It is all one assembly built into the harness on my 96. Mine appears to be bad and has a VERY intermittent working issue.

Also, did the tailgate use its own key?

You cant get that switch new, but a used one should be easy to find they were used 78-96. The tailgate does use a different key than the doors/ignition.

Tailgate and glovebox on the late model units were that same key (round one). The "square" key was doors and ignition.

Bu my switch is PART OF the harness. I have to cut and splice the new switch in?
