Found a boost leak on the intercooler inlet neck on the drivers side. It's leaking around a factory weld. It's enough that a soap bubble immediately forms under 10 psi...I hope one of the radiator shops will weld it!!!

But, I still think there's more going on than just a minor boost leak.

Well that leak is a good thing to fix. Might even be the whole deal. If the problem continues, and in the absence of other boost leaks, I'd suspect the up pipe gaskets are leaking, or a clogged/rusted thru exhaust back pressure tube or a clogged BP sensor. The tube can be snaked out with square speedo cable or trimmer line, and the sensor can be cleaned if you are careful not to dagger the membrane in there. When removing the sensor hold the nut on the bracket with one wrench and remove the sensor with another, otherwise you'll tweak the bracket.

The exhaust back pressure tube and sensor are clean... I clean it on a regular basis.. and I replaced the original with one made of copper tubing...

I've always wondered about the "up" pipes, but I don't see any soot or black marks to indicate they are leaking..

I have the same problem...average 13+mpg...and from my readings I believe when I do the turbo reinstall kit and up pipes it will be resolved. Another Texas member [escapes my memory] had a similiar problem to the point he was thinking about ditching his truck until he did that and went from 11mpg to 18 with 4.11 gears. Just got to get off my a$$ and do it.
