A friend of a friend of mine has a ext cab flatbed and his stacks are the side of the headache rack kinda like that. His are diamond cut though. Still pretty cool if you ask me. His give it a really unique sound.
i like that alot. never a big fan of stacks as they always seemed purely for show (and our trucks are generally not lookers) but had the negative of taking up precious bed-space. i do need a back rack though, and combining the two actually reduces/removes the issue of space intrusion in the bed.
i guess they'd have to be painted with high-temp paint, though - or made of stainless. that'd be cool, but expensive!
I posted this a few months ago, I thought it was cool then and when I ran across it again on cl I had to do it again just in case some missed it. I'm with Brad on the stacks though just not for me, they also would blow black smoke all over the front of my 5er.
