hi, i have a 1996 F250 5.8l. im having a problem figuring out why my brake lights are always on. the brake light switch that is connected to my brake pedal is disconnected now and the lights remain on and i have to unplug the battery whenever im done driving so it wont die... anyone have any suggestions??
Unplug it and see if your brake lights go out. I had one short out and light up my brake lights.
well it worked. i plugged my brake light swith back in and now its working like its suppose to. thanks alot, so a short in the trailerr brake control is what did it?
Mine was actually dusty. I took it off the dash and blew it out with an air hose. It is the potentiometer behind the button you press to activate the trailer brakes manually.
If you got a cheap controller, this is the time to upgrade.
