Hey yall I have an 89f250hd and I have noticed that my brake lights do not come on until I brake hard I have had my wife follow me and let me know that an also I have trailer brake controller that lights up when I brake and that light doesnt come on until I brake hard also so what to do now?? Thanks in advance -Scot-
Yep, that's all it is. I need to adjust mine a bit too. I can sit at a light with the brakes barely on and get no lights. I usually just push a tad harder to make sure they stay on. Too much snow and ice on the ground for me to mess with it...I prefer to be warm, plus I'm lazy.
How do I adjust that any help is appreciated thanks for the quick replies I knew I could count on yall -Scot-
sorry. somehow i missed this question till todays post.
i was wrong. on these trucks the switch is nonadjustable. you replace it.
there is no real clear description in the manuals on how to replace the switch.
it is on the top of the brake pedal arm, where the master cylinder push rod is. remove the push pin clip, unplug the wires, remove the switch, and put the new one in.

thanks, guess that's why I couldn't find the answer on how it was done. Someone told me to "bend" it to adjust it. But, that just didn't seem right. I'm pretty sure it wasn't designed to be bent to fit.
thanks, oh and, sorry....
