Stalling IPR?

Its snowing out. Let the truck warm up and when I went to wipe the snow off, it cut out a few times. Took it out of hi idol, and didnt do it until I drove 300 yards then started cutting out to where I could barely pull into a parking lot. Popped the hood and wiggled the IPR pigtail (ISSPRO PERFORMAX gauges) and it seemed I could trigger, but it stalled and didnt want to run long enough to try again. unhooked pigtail, and plugged the original harness back into IPR and so difference.

This video is with gauge pigtail harness hooked up(note: fuel pressure sensor went out, so the gauge always maxes out before startup)

Tried using the gauge harness again, and am not getting a reading anymore.

I was only able to drive the truck home with the ipr unplugged.

IPR has been replaced last year, but this sounds like the IPR right?

The engine is not supposed to run with the IPR unplugged. I wonder if you are talking about a sensor instead.

Is there any oil in the connector going into the ICP sensor?

So have you replaced the IPR or ICP before, last year?

Also make sure the tin nut is on the IPR.

IPR vavle was replaced a little over a year ago, as well as the ICP. ICP is bone dry, IPR tin nut is on, and solenoid looks good

If it's a new ICP, yet the truck only runs with it unplugged, I don't know how it could be something else. I'm not saying I know the system well enough that it can't be something else.

I'm beginning to wonder if ICPs are like CPSs... like needing to carry one in the glovebox.

Tried running the truck again today. About 30 degrees, not plugged in. Wouldnt want to start with icp unplugged. I plugged in the gauge connector along with the factory connector into the piggyback and she fired up. Romped longer than usual(injectors got 175k) but idoled out fine, went into hi idol fine, but only ran it for 2 minutes. Had no pressure at the gauge so I am crossing my fingers this is it. Especially when you say they go out like CPS...gets me excited

I took your advice and ordered a spare. 195$/part straight from ford

Threw the new ICP sensor in, hooked up the piggyback harness and got it running, but nothing on the guage. let it warm up and it didnt hiccup once. I did have an SES light on the whole time. Once it was warm, I turned the truck off and restarted it. No change. Then i noticed a change in idol when I went from Stock to 80E. Jumped up 100 or so rpms and injectors a little louder.

Unplugged piggyback and plugged factory plug directly to icp sensor and everything went away. No SES, no changes between tunes, runs and drives like it should.

Now i have to figure out this almightly Performax wiring. Already had more issues than I should have with this "top of the line" system

By the way, I got two extra ICP sensors now, anyone need one?!

How did I miss the fact you were using a piggyback?

I might take one of those ICPs off your hands... give me a day to sort something out on my end and I'll have an answer.

Josh88. I have the same gauges as you with no issues at all. It can't be a very serious problem with the harness. I'd give Mike at Isspro a call and talk with him, He'll know whats going on. I've always had any question or problem taken care of by him.
Jim.
