in fords infinite wisdom, they put a hard line right on top of the bottom bolt, and some sort of bracket holding another hard line on top of it. suggestions on how to get this stupid bolt off? There's no way to get an open end in there, or a socket on top of it.
Thanks. I am to that bracket thing and I can't get it up the bolts to get off. It's like it's catching. I'm going to remove the CAC clamp and tube now to try and get better access.
Yes it kinda hard to get the EBP Bracket Over the Bolt/Studs with the Metal tube connected Pulling it up evenly helps alot and really a Must if it comes crooked it only Binds up
I pull the Air filter out and take that CAC Clamp off and push the Tube out the Way for better Axcess
These Early 03-04 trucks are a bit more a PIA to change the thermostat than the Later trucks
Iv had alot of guys say you dont need to remove all that stuff just undo the 2 bolts and pull it out and thats true for an 05+
I dont mind Pullen a few things off to make it easier
when I start to fight it is when I usually break something
Yeah, it's done. Just needed a lot of determination. Getting that bracket back on during reassembly held me up for a bit too. I put distilled water in the system and took it out and got it up to temp, then called it a night. Tonight I'll drain it again and put coolant in, check for leaks again, etc. Thanks for your guys help, not sure how far I'd have gotten without this place.
Also found delvac 1 15w-40 on sale for $17.99/gal, AND a $5 rebate per gallon, which works out to 12.99/gal, best price i've ever seen for delvac oil. $52 for 4 gallons and a few bucks for the filter. When I pulled my plug there wasn't a single metal shaving on the magnet, although the oil was dark, was up to 17k miles since the last oil change.
Can't wait to get home tonight and change the water out to coolant. Dont' have much time either, leaving town tonight for a ski weekend.

Your Kidden Right??????
You ran 17K on Dyno Oil????Or ANy Oil for that Matter????
Your 6.0L Shears its oil from what they tell me
The other Problem is All the SOOT in the Oil that your feeding to the Injectors spool valves
true tat, benny. by virtue of the fact that our vehicles and including the 7.3 uses a High Pressure Oil (HPO) system, that should be a dead giveaway why we should take that chance to go so long between oil changes.
our oil will be sheered to the point that it loses its viscosity and will feel thinner than running water. that's a prob cos at that level of viscosity, it aint gonna be able to protect like motor oil should. lol.
i was gonna say something bout my mother-in-law but i shall refrain from doing so. i love that woman. i'm just gonna go "lmfao".
Yes , Benny is right about the 17k oil change but I would never talk about the Mother inlaw change ,LOL, 8/10 k oil intervels fuel 7/8K change depends on miles and hardness driven, that women has some kind of antlers antania coop group that feeds the other gals of the world ( )its better to go with the bigger hitch they cant find signel haha.
