Trans swap help!!
Hey everyone i just joined this forum and im looking for some tech help.
My truck is a 1991 Ford Centurion C-350 4x4 XLT i just took out the trans and transfercase the other day it has a 460 and tranny that came out is the E4OD im doing a manual conversion and alot of other work to the truck im looing for for what tranny to hook up to it i know a little about the 5 speeds that hook up to them but im wondering about the 6 speed ive been looking all over in tech sites and cant quit find what works anyone know what would cleanly swap for a 6 speed ? As far as I know, there isn't a 6 speed that fits the 460. You need a ZF 5 speed from a 460. The ZFs have an integrated bellhousing, so you need one from a 460 specifically. Not a diesel or a small block.

I didn't have any luck with selling mine on Craig's List and I offered free delivery.
Called a guy selling rebuilt E4od's and he offered $35. :)
Later I gave it away to a friend that needed it, good thing I didn't sell it for cash. xD

I read something about modifying the holes and making diesel transmissions fit the 460?
Or what was that? Was it between two different Ford diesels?
