73-79 Hood Bumpers

As stated in the title, I was wondering why is there a difference in the hood bumpers between 73-75 and 76-79? I have a 76 and ordered the ones for a 76 and when I got them they were wrong. The link is to LMC but JBG shows a colored picture of item 1 which unfortunately from the wallet matches what I have. Everything I have read says the hoods are the same from 73-79 so why different hood bumpers?

Cuz the early version were ineffective?

Didn't need to... I have 'em on my 73 and they suck.

So your saying these Hood Side Bumpers, Set of 4 1976-79 are better than then http://broncograveyard.com/images/ca...9HDSDBMPRS.JPG

The problem I had was, the 76-79 didn't fit my 76 and the question was, what was the difference or why rather? Especially since the hood and I assume, correct me if I'm wrong, the inner fenders are the same..
