This is just for fun and not to start arguments. Wanted to see what everyone's favorite generation Exp/ Nav. Whether its looks, performance, mods available etc. For me its the first generation because it seems to have good clearance and I think the headlights and grill are very distinct of what I think of as a tough looking modern ford truck. But this is all opinion so anyone else with ideas id like to hear.
personally, the first 2 years of the first gen 97-98. i do like the 99-02s but something about the earlier ones feels better. i know some cost cutting was done in '99 with the updates and i think it stems from that.
and yes i own a 98 but i have had alot of time in and driving 99-02s over the years. i know i'm missing out on the PI heads and a few other things but thats ok.
I just bought a 97. I will like it when I get the misfires sorted out.
I have an 05 F150 and before that a 98 F150. I Like the fit and finish of the interior better on the 98 and also the 97 Expy.
I like the body style of the second generation. As long as it has a blue oval in the grill I am happy.
I hear that on the missfires... I was always was a Chevy guy till the govt forced us to bail Chevy and Dodge out not to mention those companies taking Chinese $. Ford is the last all American auto company in this country that I love. I will never support the other auto companies again. Ford is making the stand and I am with them all the way!
I am a Ford fan from the get go. Well except for the time I had a couple of chevrolets. Chevrolet reminds me of my first marriage, reluctant to get it, cost me a lot of money, never really happy the whole I had it. They day I traded it was the best day of the whole experience.
Once I figure out access to the back cylinders like number 4 and a decent code reader, it shouldn't be an issue.
