240 / 300 Head

Other than increasing the compression ratio by using the 240 cid head on my 300, are there other advantages/dis-advantages to take into consideration. Am I right in figuring that if the 240 had a compression ration of 9.2 then that head on a 300 would give a ratio of 11.5?

Thanks for any advise,

Im not sure it would be that high, 300s came with really low compression- like in the 7s- for emissions reasons

I think the lower cr's came in the HD engines that were used in heavy trucks like 2 ton type farm trucks.

sorry about that, I was looking at a chart of CPs in a manual, the low ones were actually from a 360V8.
I just read in another post that the 300EFI head had the same size chamber as the 240 plus its a more efficient design.
