240 head for POWER?????????
Hey guys, my next logical step to build more power would be to go to a 240 head, SBC valves, and Chevy BB roller rockers. Maybe mill the head .060 to raise the compression further. Has any body done this, and if so, did it make a seat of the pants difference? Also a little advice on how much to mill the head to raise compression. I believe my engine is out of a '76 or so. Don't want to spend 300-400 to find out it was not worth it.

If you zero-deck a flat top piston on an unmilled head with an 0.040 head gasket, you'll have 12.1:1 compression. You'll also stand more of a chance of being able to run that high compression due to the quench effect that you get. You can run a dished piston to lower that to a more 'normal' ratio.
