i would be very thankful if one of you folks with a 47 half ton would look and tell me how many of the 6 bolts that hold the cab down have compression springs, castle nuts and cotter pins on them, i thought they all did but can't remember.
thanks in advance! also does any one know of a dealer that sells the entire kit for the cab? i bought the wood from macs, but need new hardware...
i know mine had springs on the 2 under the gas tank, they must of all had them or how would it flex? i am going to cal that company with the bolt kit and see what they have to say....
Mine were in pretty bad shape, but I do remember the back 2 under the gas tank having the springs. The front 2 maybe as well..... The middle 2 were rusted away...
Whatever you find out, please post the info for me as well. THANKS!!!
Chris,
i called the today and Glenn who works there said he thinks the kit comes with all the springs. i bought it, so I'll let you know what's in it when i get mine. i will be out of town for 10 days or so. i'll let you know when i see it.
regards,
Jim

Now all I have to do is remember where this thread (and the cab mount one) is so that I can redo my cab mounts. I haven't done anything to mine in months. Moving, blown out knee, working at night, etc.
i have been making a strong effort to finish this truck. i am not good at finishing things. so far, frame off, mustang2, powercoat frame. rebuilt 351w with rebuilt aod tranny, lokar this and that,2" steering column with nice wheel, 2 speed electric wipers and added the second wiper blade, custom made aluminum radiator, tranny cooler,edelbrock4,hooker headers, 8.8 positraction rear 3.73 gears, power steering, power brakes, floors, cab corners replaced. antique air /heat/defrost.kenwood, custom dash panel with autometer retro ford guages, cab/doors blasted to bare metal, epoxy primed, sealed etc.. i will be picking up the cab tomorrow, nice dark(ford) green, all trim powder coated black.once i get the cab and doors back i am going to focus on putting everything back in i have so far, get the glass. still havnt found good front fenders or running boards, and the bed is a disaster. but it'll be drivable in a few weeks.

You 3 are making me feel bad now. All I have done is try to restore it to original condition, 6v and all. I did add things like another tail light and turn signals, alternator and a right side mirror...
