I've been lurking on here for years; soaking up your collective wisdom. Finally have the $$ and time to begin working on the grande dame. And not too soon, I might add.

The front end started making some interesting noises a couple of weeks ago that I couldn't attribute to the obviously worn out ball joints. When the hubs were smoking (literally) after my drive home from work last week I found the culprit. With a friend's help and frequent reference to FTE I replaced the hubs and ball joints with Moogs this weekend. Really like the ride and the fact that there's no more noise and smoke

What I wish you all had told me is that doing this stuff is like crack. After the hubs I had the battery tested and replaced that with an Optima. Cracked open the steering column and heat shrinked (shrank?) the O/D wires. Put a reminder on my calendar to order the Red Head steering box tomorrow for the FTE group discount. (re)Started my wish list for mods. Paid for premium membership (cause this is gonna get ugly and I'm gonna need help).....
