Definitely know the dash lights don't come on - I checked at night.
Since my headlight switch on my 74 F-100 is a 'post C25,000' serial numbered truck. No it is not, serial number C25,000 refers to 1976only!
1974 serial number range: S60,001-V20,000 / 1975 serial number range: V20,001-X40,000 / 1976 serial number range: A00,001-D25,000.

Bill, thanks for responding. So the question is - is the headlight switch for my 1977 F-150 going to work for my 74 F-100. Actually, the plugs seem identical and all seems to work fine when I swapped them out. But you're saying that the headlight switch from the 77 should NOT work in my 74?
Applications: 1976 F100/350 from serial number C25,000 / 1977/79 F100/350 / 1976 Bronco from serial number C25,000 / 1977 Bronco.
1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog available on a CD from hipoparts.;com for 22 bucks.
Since most of y'all dont have it, we that do (mikeo0o0o0, AK Ford GUY, myself and etc) become the messangers, type what the catalog states.
Interesting. The plugs must be identical then, but something internal may be different. It plugged right in and worked (operated high/low beams and interior lights). But I want to get the right part too. I'll get back with you on this.

The light switch that was in my 74 F100 (defective): D7TB-11654-AA (etched on part)
The light switch that was in my 77 F150 (works fine): D2AB-11654-A1A (etched on part; I think this is "A1A"
The D2AB part does work OK in my 74, but there may be issues (see previous posts by Bill / NumberDummy) with this light switch??
I realize that the above "part numbers" are not really the part numbers, per se., but just giving those as reference.
It would seem that perhaps neither part is correct for the trucks I have. I did a search for the D7TB part and it shows it should be for the 76 and up serial numbers, but it was in my 1974 truck. A search for the D2AB part shows it is for a full size Ford - a TBird, LTDII, Elite, etc., but who knows.
