Help with NP205?

Help with NP205?
Quick question. Is swapping the yokes on the np205 as simple as removing the lock nut and sliding off the yoke? I broke my transfer case on my 77 F150 and swapped it out with one from, i was told, a 79 F150 but the new one has bigger yokes and won't bolt to my drive shaft. Please tell me I don't have to remove that heavy beast again. Thank you.

Remove the center nut and slide right off.
Different yokes may have different seals. Just some thing to look at.

It will slide out if they are both ford np205s the splines are the Same
but if it is say a dodge then the may be problems
