Eh well, birthdays can't be TOO over the top. I haven't had a party since my 16th and that one was bad. My 21st in october however, there might be some alcohol to be had. Sometimes it's nice to relax for the day and watch some movies or something.
She was a bit early but my sister got this for my birthday presents.
The one is the IPR controller and the radiator vacuum fill system.
Two very hand tools to have.
The radiator vacuum thing, is it like a leak tester? The ones I have seen had a bulb that would fill with hair and force fluid out that had a green florescent dye in it.
Nope,
It puts a vacuum on the system and with that you can tell if there is a leak
but the real reason is to then switch to a bottle of coolant and let the vacuum suck in in
and repete so that there is less air trapped in the system. The vacuum expands the
trapped air so that when the vacuum is removed the pocket gets a lot smaller so you
get a much better fill. The tool uses a ventura to create a vacuum so you need a
compressor to supply air. It can also be used to pull air out of the power steering
when you do a fresh installation. I will be replacing my steering gear box this next summer
if things go the right way. Right now I have new hoses for the radiator that I need to install.
The top hose usually gets a large air pocket that can be hard to clear without the tool.
Oh ok, that makes more sense. I normally have seen technicians attach a funnel to a rad cap and fill that with coolant, then get the engine to operating temp and wait till the coolant stops going in. Then they use a stopper on the inside of the funnel and put the normal cap back on.
Yeah, I still need to put the correct t-stat in my engine so it cools properly... So far its done pretty great even driving up to, and all around Kirkland last month.
My step dad just hopped in the bronco to move it so they could get pur van out. At first he couldn't get it started, then he couldn't keep it running, then he had a hard time getting it to reverse... I need to teach him how to drive it some time...
Its kinda funny the older I get the smaller the planet gets. Sean you were talking about Apple Valley, thats were my family is from. Hesperia to be exact. The Joshua tree's grow sideways. Hot and the wind never stops blowing.
Curt I ended up living in Blaine, Middle school thru High school.
And I'm still not as old as Sean, Lol
