I recently changed out my stock manual locking hubs for the Warn premiums (which by the way are fantastic) and I'm not really sure what to do with the old ones. It seems like a shame to just throw them out.
Are they rebuild able or useable in any way?
I believe Bob at Diesel-O-Rings was working on figuring out a way we could lube the rotating dial once it got stuck, and was accepting donations of old ones.
If he doesn't want them, why not hang on to them for a while on the shelf. Somebody is sure to eventually need them, and you can "pay it forward" to them.
Ya thats about where I was, one I could turn by hand (not easily) and the other was iffy even with the cresent wrench. I got tired of that and swapped them. I was always afraid of breaking the plastic with the wrench...
Soooo much better now.
Every time mine have got stuck, it's been because they got dirty and the o-ring got out of it's groove, an easy fix really, all you need is snap ring pliers.
A pair of stock auto hubs will usually sell for close to $300 on e-bay.
