Angry Electrically frustrated......

so I posted this last night and I'm still looking and testing. Thought I would try again today when more people are looking. soe here goes. I have a 1999 V-10. So the other day I went to start the truck and when I turned the key the dash lights started blinking and chattering like the battery was dead, however it turned over. But upon starting the engine was missing and black smoke was coming out the tailpipe. Not good. So I turned it off and tried again same. Let it sit for a minute and tried again and it started fine. Check the codes nothing. Driving today to work and it did it again, loss of power, started missing and died. Turned it off and started up again all good. Check battery and determined it was bad so i replaced it. Driving home all was good then once again the same. each time no codes. I would suspect a ground but can't find one. Any suggestions.

Check your battery GROUNDS! From engine to battery and any other grounds from frame to body/battery etc. Sounds like rust may have invaded the ground lugs. Remove the ground and wire brush and clean all the connect points. The ground connection is just as important as the hot leads.

Geez, I see now that you have another post about this same issue. People told you there pretty much what I just did...... NO this does NOT sound like a PCM.
