I have been wanting to go true dual for a long time. I think I might actually do it soon, I am just trying to get an inspection first then I can start building up a new exhaust system. I was planning on going dual 2.5" all the way back, no point in going bigger than 2.5" when the down tubes are 2.5", at least that is my understanding. I have studied a lot about exhaust systems and flow dynamics are the most important part, going from small to large pipe is always bad unless you are combining pipes. You want the exhaust to stay hot and moving rapidly. If the exhaust cools, it expands and moves slower. If the exhaust steps up in pipe sizes it affects the flow, and has more time to slow down an expand, thus slowing down more. The best example of terrible exhaust flow dynamics is a fart can on a ricer.
With true dual I won't get the scavaging effect of a y-pipe... but there will be almost no restriction to the flow. I can always add a crossover pipe later.
I bought my EX with a CNG conversion done to it, doesn't effect HP to much I still have plenty to tow but I average between city and highway about 150 miles on a 18 dollar fill up.
The most effective mod for MPG is the driver mod, the more aggressive you are the worse your mileage will be. Over-sized tires, and aggressive tread designs will negatively effect mileage. The lighter you can keep the rotating mass the better. In the old days some would but a vacuum gauge on the dash, if you lost vacuum, you had the throttle open too far. Just don't try to be one of those hyper-milers that cuts the engine off going down hill etc... That **** is dangerous in something that weighs 4 tons.

That is pretty sweet, mine takes about $40 to go about 100 miles
With the CNG kit can you still use your gas tank? It would be sweet to drive around for 150 miles for $18 but it would be a huge pain to fill up every 150 miles on a long trip.

Ya I can still use my gas tank, I have a switch in the dash that I can flip it back and forth where ever I am that will switch between CNG and Gas, ya long trips it doesn't do much but for around town and to work and back it's great, I can drive all over Utah with it because there are CNG stations everywhere. If I moved back to Texas then I would have a issue because the CNG would be worthless.
Neither LPG or CNG would do me any good here. We have no CNG that I know of and LPG costs the same as 87 pump gas. That's OK, what I really want is a supercharger.

Seth-that would be awesome to go 150 miles for $18.
Today, 150 miles would be roughly 14 gallons @ 3.50=$49 in my truck.
for that cost...could use very large CNG on a hitch dolley all day!!!
True cost of conversion? Any driving changes seth? where is your tank and how big is it? I know CNG and LPG are not similar...very interesting!!
