glow plug removal

glow plug removal
Im removing my gp, first theres oil sitting on top of each one. do i remove the oil first? second, Iv read that the piston on cylinder one has to be on tdc? or can i just remove then all very carefully.

i would just take them all out at once, dont worry about tdc, i wiped up some of the oil but what i did....with them all out, i disconnected the CPS and cranked it over to blow oil out. are you replacing the valve covers, harness, and relay as well?

It's doesn't need to be at TDC. You don't have to remove pushrods

Yea im replacing the harness and gps, whats the cps? crank postion sensor? and you say u cranked it with the vc off?

yup when i was getting ready for mine, some one had to redo theirs cause oil got in the cylinder and locked it up. it might blow a mist, might not. i felt better knowing there was no oil puddles in side.

just checked the time stamp, you should be about done. hope all went well.

cam position sensor, it right behind the crank pulley.

so how did it go!?

Got it all done went well. Old plugs didn't look to bad, iv got a buzzing sound from the , it used to not do that. What could it be

Did you also replace the glow plug relay? I just did gp's and the relay and have a buzzing now that I didnt before. I assume it is the relay because it stops when the relay shuts off.

Yea, it's not new relay but got it from a guy that has a Diesel garage, he says it's good, it seems good

mine buzzed too. i just (literally just finished)put two new harness side valve cover connectors and now it has a solid click when i put key to on. id check those valve cover connectors again

one connector had an entire glowplug port melted off and the other one made no contact

i gotcha, mine was buzzing, i figured it was similiar. you could have one dead one still possibly
