Tailgate support

Does anyone know where to find support arms for the Uni tailgate. I have found several on the web only to have them say they are no longer in stock.

They are not very common - I just won a bid on eBay for a set this past Saturday and am anxiously waiting the arrival. I've been looking for about 6+ months. Good luck with your quest!

I am missing those brackets also. Maybe custom make a couple. Probably a piece of chain with rubber hose over it would work for a few years. Deluxe kit has two chains.
one for each side. Time to hit the wrecking yard again.

take a photo

I'll take the camera to the wrecking yard today
and see about taking photos of the tailgate supports if I can't scrounge them along with some other parts.

3/3/2013 edit there were none to be see, that is tailgate supports. i did add a photo from a parts manual that showed what they looked like on a drawing.on albums page

My tailgate supports just arrived today - the rods look to be about 5/16" diameter. I had thought about maybe making some out of flat bar stock but was unsure of what to do with the ends.

The first picture shows what they look like on the truck:

The next four show the length of the supports from the ends and the middle hinge area.

This final picture shows the two different ends:

Hope these help inspire someone to make their own supports. I'd really like to see what people come up with. I had thought about just using covered chains but it doesn't look like there's enough room.

thanks for photos

Those are great photos, I'll save them for further study. Right now busy on removing a 223 engine and drive train from a donor truck.
