re purpose overhead garage door

My truck has a broken garage door bracket thing-a-majigger and I have the home link setup so I won't ever need it.
It bothers ne greatly having an open space. I've got two options 1 replace it
http://overhead-consoles.com/ and paint it or I can re purpose the hole (possibly both?)

Anyways just looking for possible ideas of what I could do with the useless slot. Extra point for crazy awesome or redneck ideas!

Hey once I free up some time I'm going for my gun license and gonna start buying more guns to go hunting for my meat! Fresh game is so much better!
I have shell casings I made into key rings already, was gonna make a row of casings to hang from my rear view mirror as a theft deterrent.

On one forum someone mentioned that he mounted his radar detector in the garage slot overhead but had no pics....

This could work both ways...It may give them reason to think there is a gun in there to steal and make off with. Car burglar rings down here LOOK for signs of gun ownership when they target cars in hopes they will get a gun during the theft. They go so far as to put stickers and little spots of paint on cars at gun ranges and gun stores for future reference. No kidding.

No offense but you Americans are bass ackwards. If Iknew someone had a gun I'd be less likely to try anything! I also grew up in smaller town and partly on a farm so people respected hunters in my area.
I can't stand thieves I've had lots stolen from me. Recently had my edge insight cts stolen...

Unfotunately hes correct, they will break into a vehicle looking for a weapon to use as a throw away in a future crime

You can mount your smartphone there so it flips down as a secondary flip down monitor.

All kidding aside, I don't think that web site's doors would work. What color is your console?
