They use the same type of fluid, but if I'm not mistaken you do fill them separately and they need to have a seal between them. Otherwise the trans fluid goes downhill into the t.case, overfilling it.
Yeah the t-case takes 2 quarts of Mercon, separate from the trans. There's 2 plugs on the back of the t-case... 1 for fill, 1 for drain.
You add fluid Through the dipstick tube on the passenger side of the engine. Start the truck, shift into each gear for a few seconds then back to park. Check the level. Add 1/4 of a quart until level is between the dots cold or in the hash mark when at operating temperature.
Ok. So I looked at the truck last night. It wasn't the transfercase gasket. That's bone dry. I think it's the pan gasket which I replaced and is still leaking. So it's going to my dad's friend that's a trans specialist. Also it has an E4OD. The c6s have 20 bolts on the pan and the E4OD has 14. So thanks for all the help. I'll let y'all know what this guy says it is.

This trans specialist is so wrong it is ridiculous. The E4OD is based off of the C6. It's a C6 with overdrive, so of course the trans is going to be longer than the typical C6.
C6 has 17 pan bolts.
E4OD has 20 pan bolts.
Ok. The pan has 14 bolts and I was told the E4ODs have 14. He says it's the low gear clutch packs. Ford built them stupid to begin with. At this point I'm just gonna let him do it. I can't get up to speed in first and second but if u can get it to catch 3rd I'm ok. So what he says make sence. He also said what probably happened was the disks warped and shredded themselves because my fluid is always burt.
