I wondered if anyone had an exploded picture of a 1964 F100 steering column. I took the lower end apart and wanted to make sure that I put it back correctly. I am having trouble getting it to shift into second and third gear when truck is moving. When it is stopped, I can shift into all of the gears without difficulty.
This is an example why people need to take pics when taking things apart. Memories fade quickly, having pics assures that when re-assembled, parts fit correctly.

Located at the bottom of the steering column under the hood are the two manual control selector levers that the shift rods attach to.
In each one of these levers is a bushing and insulator. The bushings age crack and/or disintigrate, the shift lever binds up between 1st & 2nd.

Thanks for your input. Yes, I agree. I had it apart before I thought about taking pictures. I had looked at the Fordification site but the diagram that I saw was for 1965-72. Will this be the same for 1964. I thought that maybe there was a change for 1965 since the front axle assembly was different.

There are two different pics, one is located in the steering section, it's for 1964 F100/250 2WD only / T'other is located in the trans section, it's for 1964/72 F100/250 2WD.
