1992 Ford Crew Cab Stereo Help

Ok people I have read alot of post about stereo equipment for my truck. I have a recent Poineer, I dont rember what model, I had it for my old 89 serriea, I plan on putting it in my f350. I have a few questions. Is my stock unit is the same size as the current stereo they are both single din. The factory ford uses the four hole removal method my Pioneer uses the other kind of removal what can be done will it fit. Now in speakers I have a pet peeve of cutting factory wiring, I have read have some guys disconnect the plugs and pop them off the factory speakers how difficut is this. now the rears are 6x8 has anybody used the plates to reduce them to a 5 1/4 opening what do you guys think of these. Where do you guys mount the tweeters and crossovers on these trucks. Now on to subwoofers do you guys like the underseat or behind the seat. Powered subs or seprate amp and sub set up. I have seen some of the guys with trucks like mine replace the factory antenna does it make a differnce. Are the foam speaker baffeles that places like crutchfield worth the money. Lastly the chevys i switched from took a little adapter for the antenna do i need it for the Ford. I am sorry for so many questions this is the only Ford that I have owned for an extended amount of time. I plan on doing some serious driving with this truck so a good sound system is a must

the factory is a single din.just install the chassis and slide it in.no adapter for antenna needed.

I dont cut connectors off.I run all new heavier speaker wires . If you are replacing speakers you will have to do something, you could build a jumper wire to go from the connector to speaker.just check polarity when hooking up to not wire backwards.

I would just buy a good set of rear speakers.

Buy the adapter plug for your wiring. It plugs into the factory one. If you don't want to use the factory speaker wires don't hook them up to the adapter. Run new ones.
