2 different size babys butts?
They were working on leaking up pipes and fixing the leaky exhaust manifolds on a really nicely set up 2000 crew cab F450 4x4, it had it had propane, a gear vendor, 245 19.5 tires, on board air and train horns. I thought it was Greg's truck for a second. I was watching since I just got 2 sets of good used International bellowed up pipes for 200 each shipped.
I knew I could learn something by watching them do it first.Anyways a bolt broke off in the baby's butt since the novice mechanic doing it had not sprayed penetrating oil on any of the bolts and they needed a new one, I happened to have one since I picked up all the stuff to do the up pipes on my 2000 X over the new year ( that didn't happen) So I was looking to unload it since I paid 95 bucks for it. I brought it out and gave it to him to use. My buddy who owns the shop wanted to buy it, off me since I bought it on his account at the Ford dealer, so I got his pricing....
Well a half hour later the kid brings in a flange and the babys butt and they are not even close to the same size. We looked at the old one that he took off and it was a 3/8 to 1/2 inch larger on the opening where the donut goes.
Anyone know what the heck was going on? I know the OBS uses a totally different up pipe configuration as the turbo bolts on the flange rather then using the clamp. Is that another difference between the early and late 99's?
What puzzles me is they are both 2000 7.3's.. anyone?
I was just surprised that it was that different. I will just take it back to Ford.
