got a 99 ranger project
it was prolly 3 hours start to clean up, pass side took 1 1/2 hour driver side took about 30 mins LOL rest was getting tools out and putting them away..ect
now that i know what i'm doing it would go alot easier now, but i can tell you i would never want to do drums again
decided to cheap out on the tires and use some i already have. saving $600 out of pocket. i have some firestone studded tires i'll be putting on 94 explorer saw blade wheels. i'll prolly pull the studs to make them a year round tire.
took it out for another drive tonight, found a slight miss if you get on it. i'm going to pull a plug or two and see what they look like. i have a sneaking suspicion they are factory. i'll do plugs if they look like they need it at all.
got all the bed decals off it tonight...what a pain in the butt! thank got for the rubber wheels you put in the drill because otherwise it would take days. hood and doors are next.
before

after(she still needs a bath, clay bar and waxing)

bought a new 850 CCA duracell battery from my work, then had the extra firestone tires i had mounted on old explorer wheels. holy crap the old tires were balloons! it drives SO much better now on our ice/snow covered roads with some decent tires.
the new windshield is going in tomorrow. got a deal of $175 that i'm pretty happy with.
the old tires and this was the best one

the new used tires

the old battery, had a date of 3/04 on it..it was time. plus look at all the corrosion. i still gotta get a pic of the new battery.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I agree, if these are OEM plugs & wires, with this mileage on them, they have lived two lifetimes & are in need of replacement. After removing & adjusting my plugs to min spark gap on my then new 99 4.0L, they were .008" over Max spark gap in only 30K miles, so the spark gap grew .012" total in only 30k miles, so if yours are OEM with 150K on them, they're likely Way out of spec on spark gap & may very well be the cause of the on road miss, as the spark could blow out under load, if gap is too great.
The specified finewire iridium enhanced center electrode, with platinum pad sidewire design Motorcraft or Autolite plugs & wires are recommended. They are designed to take the double work load our waste spark ignition system puts on them. These plugs will fire at a lower voltage to help get us going on those cold starts, when battery & ignition & fuel pump voltages are at their lowest. I get faster year round starts with these plugs & spark gap is staying in spec.
If the O2 sensors are OEM, they too have lived two lifetimes & are likely lazy to switch as fast as they should to give the computer good feedback on fuel trim, so they likely need to be replaced, but do it with a like design sensor. This could improve driveability, mpg & may help with the miss.
More resurrection thoughts for consideration, keep us posted on how it goes.

yes i do plan to pull a plug and check them, i'll most likely not touch the 02 sensors as i'm not keeping the truck. funny thing is after changing the battery and cleaning the MAF and IAC i have not noticed the miss again. i'm going to put a few more miles on it but still check them and replace them with autolite double plat if i do.
i was able to get the door stickers off only have the hood left. need to repaint the front bumper and then get some black for the hitch and wheel wells.
lastly a deep cleaning is all she needs before being sold to the new owner.
funny story, i sold 2 of my old excursions and our motorhome to a family out in Wasilla, AK. when i told her about this truck shes pretty interested because she has a son that just got his drivers license and wants something smaller then a excursion to drive. i'm going to drive it out there on sunday to show her and let them test drive..ect.
