i hope so, i only sell stuff i feel is a good solid car/truck. if i dont feel that way i'll let the buyer know. honest to a fault some times but i just thing that's the right way to do it. i gotta sleep with myself at night ya know...
so alittle more to update, detailed under the hood. detailed the interior, put some more miles on it also removed the hood decals.
came out from work and looked down to see this
very last thing to do now is repaint the front bumper and then she is done!
Looks like you have done a great job man! And thanks for letting me hijack the thread a little bit back there. Def get some better pics up before she gets sold off!
so i brought it out to the family that has bought 3 other trucks from me, let the son test drive it and he fell in love. once the dad gets home from work on the north slope in a week and half he'll take a look at it and sounds pretty sure they are going to buy it.
i'm going to replace the spark plugs this week.
so i filled it up a week or so ago...with test driving and 100 miles out to there house and back most of it in 4x4 i filled back up. 278 miles on exactly 16 gallons of gas... 17.4 mpg!!! holy crap!!!!
ok did plugs today, they have been done at some point in the trucks life. gap was not terrible they were not totally worn out or anything. but it made a hell of a difference in how she ran. but i also found a plug wire(back pass side) that was not tight on the plug..i think this was my miss. anyhow i bent it together and heard/felt it pop on the new plug and gave it a tug. its not going to rattle around anymore.
best part of owning a 4.0 ohv since i was 14 years old i was able to do all 6 plugs(along with pulling the right front tire) in 26mins! pretty damn good! i set the gap on all the new plugs at .54 which is right inbetween the factory spec of .52-.56
got word from my boss today they found paperwork on the truck in which it had a HD tranny rebuild in 2007 right at about 102k miles. this is always good news! its also had a new steering rack and new intake gaskets recently. this is a good little truck and its fun to drive!
Good that the plugs seem to have been changed. Those look to be double platinum, not the finewire iridium, with platinum pad sidewire plugs. We need at least double platinum in our waste spark ignition system.
Reading the plugs, it looks like the top & bottom 2 were from cylinders that were running a ittle rich, of the middle two, third from the top/cleanest one, seems to have been running lean & the 4th from top looks to be about right.
Bet a 20oz dose of Chevron Techron Plus, in the tank before filling up with Chevron, Texaco. CalTex, or now Shell, all of which now have some PEA in them & along with the added 20oz Techron will raise the treat rate 10X above that of pump gas alone & will tidy up the fuel injectors, intake valves, piston crowns & heads of deposits & give er a little more GO at throttle up!!!!
Advance Auto has Techron on at a BOGO deal this month, so if you order online with a discount code & pick it up in store with no shipping, you can do it for less than Sesfoam & its synergistic with the Techron already in the Chevron gasoline.
i like seafoam so i'll stick with it. only reason i used chevron is my card with them was about to be shut off due to inactivity so i had to use it haha
had to put the little ranger to the test! helped a friend move 55 miles and it ended up being about 120 miles round trip. loaded down with 2 couches, 2 tables, bed and box spring..about 20 boxes of crap..the list goes on. anyhow i had a 30-50mph head/cross wind which hurt my MPG but the little ranger held 70mph in overdrive without issue except for the bigger hills. i really love this little truck! going to be sad to see it go
based on the miles on this tank and it being on E i think i got around 13.5 to 14mpg but i'll check when i fill up again. i now have over 500 miles on the little thing!
started loading up
finished loading
almost there, stopped to check all my straps..ect at a sportsmans wearhouse.
