First time posting here but I've always used these forums for a lot of useful info and tips. Before I type my concern, I would like to say thanks to all the people that take their time to post on here, I'm sure there are many like myself who find the answer they are looking for here even if they are not registered members.
Now, I found a similar thread to my issue here but it seemed to have gone in a completely different direction. In any case, here is my issue.
2000 Exp. E.B. 5.4 Replaced the fuel pump and now the gas gauge is not working properly, it states half full when it is actually emptier than a can of red bull. I have not had the time to go up and revise the pump connections but I wanted to ask if there is a chance that it could be related to something else.
Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I will be along to give you more things to look at. I believe the fuel pump and gauge are integrated -- did you replace the pump yourself and was it a new Ford unit?
Either something didn't get hooked up right or the new pump has a defect. And new ones do come with defects, trust me 'cause I got one...
Thanks for the reply, Diesel Dan. Well it is aftermarket. I I have considered that factor as well. A friend told me it could be the sending unit. Not sure if that would the switch on top of the pump or part of it. Thanks again!
