Finally upgraded my trusty old 2004 F250 6 liter to a new 2012 F350 DRW with almost every option. I had a 1999 Dodge DRW about 10 years ago and really like the way it towed, so I'm back to DRW again. My trailer isn't huge (28' 10k lb race trailer), but I tow it a lot, so this setup should be real nice. I'm also hoping to upgrade to a two car trailer in a year or two so I can bring my race truck to events too, or the wife's truck. The old F250 needed a lot of help from the weight distributing hitch to stay level, and sagged pretty good with a ton of pellets in the bed too. I feel like this truck will do better in that area.
I'm up to ~500 miles so far. I'm getting kick *** fuel mileage with this thing, and I love just about everything about it. I'm not even sure I want to mod it at this point. Can't wait to test out this transmission too. The 5 spd auto in the 2004 would drive me crazy most of the time. I'm used to freezing my *** off after all these years, but the supplemental heater is the best thing ever invented.
Thanks for the space, can't wait to learn more about this 6.7 liter. On to the pics.
Thanks guys. I do really like the look of this dually in black. Oddly enough, my only other dually (99 dodge) was black too. I'm looking for just a few tasteful exterior mods that will enhance the beefy, badass look of it. My trailer is black too. I've already ordered the tonneau cover, weather tech floor mats, hitch parts, and a few other things I can't live without.

Good looking truck ya got there.
I was giving you heck in the other post about needing to see pictures.
You, uh, can, uh, disregard that, um, post.
Lol, I just saw that. I knew it was coming I guess. I saw your question about the car too, I might as well answer that here rather than clutter up the break in thread. It's relevant, since it's the main reason I own a diesel truck at all. I pull this thing up to New England Dragway almost weekly for test and tunes and Import events, and to certain races in Ohio, New Jersey, Maryland, throughout the season.
The car is a 91 Eagle Talon, converted to RWD with a Powerglide and a 12 bolt rear. The engine is the stock 2.0 liter 4 cylinder block and crank, with stronger pistons and rods. It makes an estimated 800-900 hp. It doesn't really fit into any normal class. Even at import events I get pushed into the Outlaw/Extreme type classes, which it's often not fast enough to really be competitive in. It was built in the 90s, and the rules have changed a lot since then. Best quarter mile run is 8.23 at 160 mph.
I also have a 1988 Mitsubishi Mightymax pickup truck with the same type of motor, and a TH350 trans, stock rear end. That ran 10.81 at 124 mph at 3000 lbs, maybe 450-500 hp or so. This one sees some street time.
Here are some videos if anyone is looking to kill some time. The last one of the car still puckers me up a bit...
nice truck! my wife was a little pissed that i got a base XLT and didnt get a few options, like the rapid heat, or heated seats... but whatcha gonna do. nice rig buddy!
Tonneau cover showed up, just installed it. Finally, I can use the bed the way I am used to using it. Same cover I had on my last truck, Access Original. I think the rest of my parts are showing up later today.
