I am at a loss or just stupid. I pulled my icp on the drivers side head. It was full of oil. Read a lot on here and I ub=nderstand this to mean it is bad. What makes them go bad? Just replaced it about two years ago. Fixed the problem then, but they are expensive. Please help. 99 F350.
New injectors,glow plugs.
I pulled it just hoping to get lucky. It has no power, runs rough, poor milage, won't start in seventy degree weather unless plugged up. Checked the UVC harness and GP relay. Don't know where to go next.

Ah.... I believe a low ICP signal would throw a SES light. There are links in my signature... that last one will help, but not as much as having Auto Enginuity or some other scan gauge AND the last link. If parts prices are a concern, some way to read your sensors will be a huge benefit as the truck rolls the calendar and the odo. I nail which part I need every time.
funds are definately a concern and I REEAAAALLLY appriciate the help. I used your link once before and it was very helpful. Now I am getting a 1690,1209,0603,1316 and 1211. Thanks again.

The delta concerns me, that's the range of operation. A dirty ICP can cause the same thing. I'm guessing you already tried pulling the ICP on a warm engine to see if the idle kicks up and gets louder?
yes sir. It does get better unplugged. doesn't run better but it idles better. I have torn it back down to the injectors e=twice to check torque and just see if I missed something. Checked the UVC harness and all connetions. Only thing I know for sure is one of the oil diverters on the front injector passenger side got broken when I changed them from the old injectors. I looked up the tool you talked about. Does the $300.00 version run on any laptop and can you buzz test with it. Thanks so much for the help. I am about ready to cave in the fenders.
If there is oil in the ICP plug then chances are the sensor is leaking and needs to be replaced. If the truck idles better when the sensor is unplugged then it is very possible that is your issue.
will the oil diverter on the injector being broke cause problems. tried to find a new one with no luck.
I was working on a truck, that didn't have any of them on the Driver's side, and the owner had never been under them, in the 2 years of ownership. Didn't seem to be an issue, just little messier. Ford has them P/N F4TZ9G524A
thanks. the truck is my livly hood, no to mention i'm a volunteer fire fighter. I can get to fires just not always sure if it will get me back. Thanks again to everybody.
