Hubs are gone. Install manual locking hubs.

Auto will prevent you from getting out. All you have to do is engage 4x4 with your transfer case shifter and back up so it can lock in.

Manual, you will have to get out and lock them. This is the most trustworthy. Why? Because YOU lock it in. It doesn't have to have alot of gears and springs to do the locking for you!

You might need a conversion kit from auto to manual locking hub.

Push button? Let me see a picture?

Shouldn't need the conversion for a '95 model. (The conversion is only necessary if your hubs attache with only three (3) bolts).

There are a handful of reputable manufacturers out there. I personally prefer the Mile Marker brand but Warn makes a good set as well. As with just about anything, you get what you pay for so spend the extra money if you can on a set that has an all/metal mechanism (some use a plastic ****/dial that will deteriorate more rapidly with exposure to oil and the elements.

Removal and installation wil be covered in the instructions for the set you buy but you can also research the procedure here. I am certain it has been detailed numerous times.

As a matter of fact it has! Our very own Encho made a nice write up for this.

It has details and all the goodies for a manual conversion. Maybe take a gander at t and see what you think. Other than that, I don't have anything else to contribute, good luck!

Push Button 4x4

By push button he means the two buttons on the dash labeled "4x4" and "Low range" just to the right of the steering wheel. Like my '93 has:
