Early 97' ?

I'm looking at a 5" cat-back on Clay's site and it states early 97'. How do I know if my truck is early or?

Thanks

Im pretty sure its talking about the OBS v NBS trucks. But just to be safe you can always put it as a 96 and it'll be the same.

There actually is an early and late model '97. If the build date on the sticker inside your driver's door is 6/97 or up, it should be a late '97. I just found this out a while back. A quick way to tell to be sure though is if the exhaust back pressure tube coming off the pass. side manifold runs up in front of the high pressure oil reservoir, and the sensor is mounted down low in front of the reservoir, it is a late '97. If the tube goes up and behind the reservoir, and the sensor is mounted on top the reservoir, it's an early '97. Also, if the engine cover is still on your truck, the late '97s use the small engine cover like the super duties.

My truck was built 11/97 and had the big cover and the EBPS was behind the hpop res.

IDK Mike, maybe it was only the 4x4s. I noticed the difference on the EBPS on my parts truck and wondered why it was different, and that was the info I got.

I would say yes, that would be an early '97.

Good info, but why would that matter for an exhaust kit?

It doesn't, I was just answering the question about how to tell the difference. I meant to add that it shouldn't make any difference on the exhaust, but by the time I got all that typed out, I forgot! LOL!!
