i also wanted your guys opinion he gave me the option to do an egr delete kit is that worth doing and getting rid of the cooler? i live in florida and we dont have emissions down here!!! or shoul i keep it all OEM?
Can't fail if it ain't there. But tell him to keep the egr valve and keep it plugged in to keep everything happy
well egr is definitely blown and he said i need an oil sender not sure what its for but i need one and i need a new turbo hose!!! egr delete is in and new oil cooler is order and he should start putting everything together tonight!!! is there anything i should replace while he has everything apart?
well egr cooler was deff gone!!! did the egr delete kit with a new oil cooler!! i have been having a problem with the no power in the morning turned out number 2,4 injectors where on there way out and number 6 was shot!! so i replaced 2,4,6,and 8 injectors!! my oil sender was leaking and needed a new one and connector and the blue house next to the turbo was split so i replaced that!! after all that i am pretty happy the way she runs now cost me after labor and parts @2750.00!!!
However some of these trucks take Many Many repeated flushes to clear the system out Something Most shops Fail to do
Some of us me included went to GREAT LENGTHS to Inshure a Clean cooling system
Running Cleaners pullen thermostats undoing all cooling system connections and stuffing the hose in to flush Pullen block drain plugs with many many cycles as there are Lots of places for Casting sand to Hide in there
Im not saying the Guy screwed up but I doubt he went that far with it
The guys that dont flush good usually have the same issue 10-15K down the road just enough time to Kinda put it behind them and forget some shops reliey on this for Job security
I bet I had 10hours into Flushing my coolant system out over 2 days with 3 diffrent cycles of VC-9 Cleaner. I even opened all block drains and just let the hose run threw it for awhile if you remove the thermostat and stick hose there thats considered a reverse flush of the Block.. I did a Bunch of Flushing one day added a Coolant filter drove like this for a Month then Did another round of flushing only the second goaround I replaced the Oil Cooler. SO far it looks like it paid off as my ECT and EOT spread is only 2-6* this time of year and stays about the same driving around town
If I was in your shoes Id add a coolant filter for shure
