I've used this site so much already and have gleaned much useful, entertaining information that, at long last, I'm subscribing. It's been worth the money already.
I'm a one-time aircraft mechanic and am a practical van user with a large family. We live at the end of the Haines highway in a very snowy area, so I really depend on this vehicle for the worst conditions. It's within my budget so far and has taken us many miles, most recently a trip down the Al-Can last summer with a long trailer and vanful of us. Lots of adventure - and an unimaginable number of potty stops. I can't think of a better vehicle for what we were doing, though.
So - now I'm working on a runnability issue - IPR circuit failure. It showed up in the codes after a fuel pump replacement (almost got it back to normal). Once I found where the IPR is and took enough components off to see it I found that I'd inadvertently yanked out the wires from the connector end (see the picture). Based on the difficulty getting back there under the firewall I'd really not try a field repair, though we have to do things like that around here from time to time. Dealerships I call can't even find a new harness to get me a price.
I know it's a long shot, but can anyone recommend how to get a used electrical IPR connector for my 97 7.3DI with a 6" pigtail? Or do you have one?
I know I came loaded for bear because I have a couple more issues waiting in the wings, but I'm interested in picking your well-seasoned brains first with this one. Any takers?
just be careful with that there Clay fellow at RiffRaff. he knows how to get his hooks into you so you will always come back and spend more money at his store.
i swear he has some kind of magic PMS dust he sprinkles on the parts before he sends them out!!!
