im taking the engine out of my 4x4 to have it replaced. i know i cant pull the trans out with the engine because of the transfer case. i was planning on disconnected the bellhousing from the engine n sliding it off n then lifting it out. do i have to drop the transmission and transfer case or can i just put a jack underneath the transmission
when i pull the engine out of my truck i never put anything under the transmission. i just pull the engine out. your gonna have to pick the engine up some then slide it out, the torque convertor will come out of the transmission with it, (giving it's a auto) when you reinstall it just make sure it is completely seated in the transmission.
