94 f150 351 with E4OD. Truck will not shift into 2nd gear under hard acceleration. It works perfectly otherwise. Trying to sell it and potential buyer discovered it on a test drive. Help! I really want to get this truck sold.
Pulled codes and got CM codes 53 (tps too high), 95 (fuel pump open), 39 (torque convertor not engaging). I am assuming that 39 was from the not shifting. Could the tps be causing my problem?
More info if it helps. It will not up shift at w.o.t. only. I tried 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, did not check 3rd to od. It down shifts but will not up shift. It will shift normally under hard acceleration as long as it is not w.o.t. Please help.
It's a common mistake, happens all the time. I suggest you check for codes again.
If the KOEO tests pass then you will get the System Pass Code of 111, 111. There should be a separator flash then the truck will display any codes stored in Continuous Memory (CM). If there are none present you will once again receive the System Pass code of 111,111.
Regardless of the code readout results I would measure the TPS with a meter. Check for Closed Throttle voltage and a smooth transition to Wide Open Throttle. I suspect your issue lies in that area.
Ran self test again and this is what I got. 3 flashes separated by two seconds, then four second pause followed by tree more flashes separate by two seconds, then six second pause one flash and another six second pause, this was then followed by the original two sets of 3 flashes. I ran self test a half dozen times to be sure I had it right.
Am I correct in interpreting that as code 33 EGR valve opening not detected? If so what now? Thanks for your help.
Yeah, that was the first thing I checked. Transmission was serviced 11,000 miles ago. ATF looks great. It just passed smog too so EGR code is kind of weird.
It sounds like the solenoid pack, it might have been serviced but problem was probably always there! Was it flushed or was the only oil replaced the one the pan holds?

Your flashes appear to be 111,111 for KOEO tests. The single flash is the separator code indicating the next set of codes will be from Continuous Memory. The next set of flashes are 111,111 System Pass.
Your interpretation is incorrect. I stated before your truck will display THREE digit codes.
Reference the link I posted earlier to check your TPS. The TPS output may be in range for closed throttle, but it may not be linear when opening the throttle or it may not go to full value at Wide Open Throttle (WOT). Either of those can cause symptoms you described earlier.
