Hold on.. have you seen these heads and intake or were you just told they were GT40 parts. Police interceptors got a 5.0HO which has a bigger cam than a regular motor but the heads are exactly the same as what's on a truck motor and the intake is worse(smaller). You need visual verification of the casting numbers or you could be completely wasting your time and money.
there in good shape i was just over there taking to him and when i looked at them it was about 5 months ago and he said they were gt40P heads and i may have oer looked the p in excitement, but what would i have to to to make the gt40p heads work if thats what they are?
Still have to enlarge the head bolt holes to 1/2" for the 5.8 bolts, also will need a set of headers to clear the angled spark plugs. Ford Racing Headers are supposed to clear, but I had to heat and seriously ding 1 tube to clear #4 plug. Maybe i just got a badly made set, I don't know.
im hoping there gt40... but i read some were i think had to get gt40p spacific headers? but i got a good fealing its the true gt40because i eleive the motor is older then a 97?
Yeah, you need GT40P specific headers, that's what I bought, didn't work out perfect though, as I said. My original heads were cracked, I got mine off a mid 90's 5.0 Exploder at the u-pull junkyard, don't remember what year though. You can see the p after the GT40 really clearly though, you shouldn't have any problem telling the 2 apart.
so i went and looked at the heads again and wow they were clean it looked like a fresh black paint on them they are GT 40P heads and what would i have to do to run these heads?
