How do you remove the bed caps?
I had some NICE person leave me a big scratch down the side of my
06 F350. I don't know if I'll fix it myself or have the shop do it.
The question is how to remove the factory black plastic bed rail
caps. Are they glued on or what?

Nope no glue. Just did it on my 03. You have to lay on your back inside the bed and look under the rails. You will see the plastic clips from there. You have to start at the back and squeeze the clips together while lifting up on the caps. It helps to have two people doing it. I had my 10 year old son carefully lift while I squeezed the clips. Most body shops will tell you to just replace the cap because you will break the clips when trying to remove the rails but I did mine and I didnt break one clip so It can be done.

body shops just grab and rip off your old caps. Do what bigpipes said, i take mine off ever time i wax my truck. I wash all the crud off first then wax under the caps, even though they are tight they do rub the paint off so I'm just trying to keep it from starting rust
